I hope each of you had a Happy Halloween! Sticking with the overcoming fear theme, this week we turn to Mark Twain — born Samuel Clemens (1835–1910) — American author, humorist, inventor, entrepreneur, and social critic best known for The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. He helped Ulysses S. Grant publish his famous memoirs, invested heavily in new inventions and technology, and ultimately went bankrupt in 1894 before rebuilding his fortune. Twain understood fear intimately — not as something to eliminate, but as something to master. Courage isn't the absence of fear. It's the decision that something else matters more.
