Our 6th President is an amazing person: Born July 11, 1767, in Braintree, Massachusetts, he lived to age 80. Son of John Adams, the 2nd President of the United States. He served as Secretary of State from 1817 to 1825, U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, and U.S. Representative from Massachusetts for 22 years — becoming the first former U.S. president to serve in the House of Representatives. He is known for opposing slavery and defending the right to petition Congress.
