COURAGE
FDR on Fear
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
With Halloween arriving this Friday, it felt right to reflect on fear — not the fun, costumed kind, but the kind that quietly holds us back. FDR delivered these words during his first inaugural address in 1933, at the depths of the Great Depression, when the nation desperately needed courage. His message was simple and timeless: fear itself is the enemy. Not the challenge in front of us. Not the unknown. Fear. When we let fear drive our decisions, we shrink our possibilities. But when we name it, face it, and move forward anyway, we discover what we're truly capable of. This week, whatever is in front of you — take the step.
